Tomorrow is the premiere of “Our Musical Neighborhood,” a family show I got to write and illustrate in collaboration with the wonderful team at the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra! 🌃🎶

What’s really special about this program is that I am from and grew up in Charlotte. After a twelve year stint in Florida, I moved back to my old stomping grounds and this will be my first time back on a Carolina stage since I ventured away!

Lots of thank you’s are in order for making this homage to the Queen City happen so expect gushy posts tomorrow after the concert. 🥰

I actually became a real human last year and started reading books again after a bajillion year hiatus. Most recent read this month was "Woman in the Window" by A.J. Finn. I'm thinking of starting "On Tyranny" by Timothy D. Snyder next.

Oh hi! I've been struggling with with what to post and where to post it.

Everything is weird in our country (and world) right now and I've been in my head about whether or not it's hypocritical to post on these platforms when my values don't align with those who run them.

For now, I've come to the conclusion that I want to connect through art. I want to learn from you and I also want to remind you that my little art corner of the internet is a safe space. These platforms seem to be where I need to do it... for now.

How is your January going? Coffee continues to be my favorite friend and eternal comfort. 🙂

Last weekend, the @orlandophilorch premiered a holiday Symphony Storytime program that I had the pleasure of writing and illustrating! The concert included a fun new Rudolph story with some reimagined reindeer friends (Chef Blitzen, dancer twins: Dancer and Prancer, and Granny Vixen, to name a few). 🦌❄️
